Pre-operative PSA velocity is prognostic

A recent study from Stanford, California found that the rate of rise of PSA before radical prostatectomy (or probably any other form of radical therapy - but this was not examined) was prognostic. Patients with a fast rise in the year before radical surgery, were at higher risk of relapse (J. Clin. Oncol 2005; 23: 6157).
