Combining long term hormonal therapy with radiation therapy for locally advanced prostate cancer significantly improved local progression-free, disease-free survival, freedom from distant metastases and PSA control, according to a large multi-centre trial reported by Dr. G Hanks (Fox Chase Cancer Canter, USA) at t he American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology annual (2000) meeting.
