Improved detection of prostate cancer
A recent publication in the influential Journal of Clinical Oncology has helped to determine which men with borderline raised PSA levels should proceed to biopsy. Where the PSA density (Absolute PSA divided by the volume of the gland) is high, where there is a hypo-echoic area on Ultrasound and, less influentially, a small gland, should proceed to biopsy (J.
